October 28 – November 2 2012 Professor Guo
together with five Ph.D. students Jiahua Zhu, Xi Zhang, Qingliang He, Huige
Wei, and Hongbo Gu attended the AIChE annual conference and gave the following
talks: “Microwave Radiation Absorption Polyurethane Nanocomposites”
by Prof. Guo; “Looped Carbon Capturing and Environmental Remediation:
Case Study of Magnetic Polypropylene Nanocomposites” and
“Interfacial Polymerized Polyaniline Nanofibers/Graphite Oxide Composites
Toward Electrochemical Capacitors” by Jiahua Zhu; “Magnetoresistive
Conductive Polyaniline - Barium Titanate Nanocomposites with Negative
Permittivity” and “Epoxy Nanocomposites Reinforced with Soft and
Hard Nanoparticles” by Xi Zhang; “Polypropylene/Carbon Nanotubes
(CNT) Nanocomposites: The Role of Surfactant On Interfacial
Compatibility” and “Magnetic High Density Polyethylene
Nanocomposites Reinfored with in-Situ Synthesized Fe@FeO Core-Shell
Nanoparticles” by Qingliang He; “Magnetic Epoxy-Magnetite
Nanocomposites” and “Magnetic Polyaniline Nanocomposites for
Environmental Remediation” by Hongbo Gu; and “Electrochromic
Polymer Nanocomposites” by Huige Wei.
Due to the hurricane Sandy, Prof. Guo and
several students have volunteered to serve as Chairs and Co-Chairs for several
sessions in the Materials Science and Engineering Division.
