October 28 – November 2 2012 Professor Guo together with five Ph.D. students Jiahua Zhu, Xi Zhang, Qingliang He, Huige Wei, and Hongbo Gu attended the AIChE annual conference and gave the following talks: “Microwave Radiation Absorption Polyurethane Nanocomposites” by Prof. Guo; “Looped Carbon Capturing and Environmental Remediation: Case Study of Magnetic Polypropylene Nanocomposites” and “Interfacial Polymerized Polyaniline Nanofibers/Graphite Oxide Composites Toward Electrochemical Capacitors” by Jiahua Zhu; “Magnetoresistive Conductive Polyaniline - Barium Titanate Nanocomposites with Negative Permittivity” and “Epoxy Nanocomposites Reinforced with Soft and Hard Nanoparticles” by Xi Zhang; “Polypropylene/Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) Nanocomposites: The Role of Surfactant On Interfacial Compatibility” and “Magnetic High Density Polyethylene Nanocomposites Reinfored with in-Situ Synthesized Fe@FeO Core-Shell Nanoparticles” by Qingliang He; “Magnetic Epoxy-Magnetite Nanocomposites” and “Magnetic Polyaniline Nanocomposites for Environmental Remediation” by Hongbo Gu; and “Electrochromic Polymer Nanocomposites” by Huige Wei.

Due to the hurricane Sandy, Prof. Guo and several students have volunteered to serve as Chairs and Co-Chairs for several sessions in the Materials Science and Engineering Division.
